Hi, I’m JASMINE JADE

I help riders build confidence in the saddle that carries with them far beyond the arena.

I am the riding instructor and horsewoman behind Flower & Stone Horsemanship.

With over 10 years of horsemanship experience, I teach a connection-first approach that prioritizes the physical and emotional well-being of both horse and rider. But the philosophy behind Flower & Stone came from something I started noticing in my own life long before I gave it a name.

Motherhood taught me a lot about duality, how we can be soft and strong, nurturing and boundaries, grounded and still growing. I started seeing that same balance everywhere: in nature, in horses, in horsemanship… and, apparently, even in my own name, Jasmine Jade.

That duality became Flower & Stone.

I didn’t come to this work because it was easy. I came to it for the horses who need a softer hand and the people who yearn to be closer to them.

The flower represents softness, feel, patience, connection, and the willingness to listen. The stone represents strength, confidence, boundaries, clear communication, and knowing how to stay grounded when things get hard. I believe good horsemanship asks us for both.

My lessons blend practical horsemanship and rider biomechanics with trauma-informed principles, breathwork, embodiment, and nervous system awareness. We work on becoming more balanced and effective riders while learning to notice what’s happening beneath us, around us, and within ourselves.

Whether you’re sitting in the saddle for the first time, rebuilding confidence in yourself or your horse, or you’re an experienced rider looking for more feel, balance, consistency, and refinement, I meet you where you are and build from there.

Because ultimately, I don’t want to teach you how to simply ride a horse. I want to teach you how to understand one and how to become the kind of rider who can be soft without being unsure, strong without being forceful, and grounded enough to keep growing.

My own horse, Lady, teached me to actually listen

Lady came to me with a reputation, spooky, unsure of herself, and not a horse most people wanted to put just anyone on. I thought I was experienced enough to handle her, and I was. But eventually I realized there’s a big difference between being able to handle a horse and actually understanding one.

For a long time, I focused on managing her reactions. What changed everything was realizing Lady didn’t need me to become better at controlling her. She needed me to understand where those reactions were coming from.

So I started asking different questions. What is she trying to communicate? Where is the fear coming from? What am I asking of her before she feels ready? How can I make the right answer feel safe instead of simply demanding it?

Working with Lady changed the way I approach horsemanship and the way I teach. I became less interested in how quickly I could get a horse to comply and much more interested in creating the confidence, clarity, and trust that makes them want to work with us.

Lady is still with me today, and she has become one of the most willing horses I’ve ever worked with. She didn’t need a harder hand. She needed someone willing to listen, to soften
